It's a shame that you could BA to start such a discussion by posting something wrong when I suggested a possible reason for the equipment manufacturer saying not to use an extension lead.

I didn't say you said I was wrong.

People do not typically buy 2.5mm extension leads to use inside their houses. They just don't. Can they buy them? Yes. Do they buy them? Not typically.

Extension leads of the TYPE and the LENGTH that people TYPICALLY buy to use inside their houses are not READILY available with 2.5mm cable. They just aren't.

He didn't want to have a discussiion, just the last word. He wasn't being of any help to the original poster. I normally avoid that sort of thing completely once it goes off topic but obviously I was offended by his attitude.

As a simple solution could you get a single extension lead just to extend the bed cable and fasten the "join" to the bed and get a 4 way extension for the other stuff. I am sure we could help if we were near you.

I'm not having this. I know that if you've put me on ignore you won't read this, but others will, and be left in no doubt as to what sort of person you are. You can't be bothered to read things properly, and make false allegations because of that.

I didn't want the "last word", I wanted accuracy to be observed and the truth established. And those are the reasons I challenged your inaccuracy and falsehoods.

2.5 mm extension leads are readily available

I didn't think that extension leads of the type people typically buy to use in their homes were without impediment, easily, handily, available with 2.5mm cable.

The first part of that matters, because, as you must surely know full well, people tend not to buy galumphing great open reels, with several 10's of m of cable, and weighing several kg, to use in their homes. In their gardens maybe, but not in their living rooms and bedrooms. They tend to buy, as you must surely know full well, shorter ones, with compact reels or cassettes, and made using 1.25 or 1.5mm cable.

And it must be obvious, to anybody who bothers to think about it for a minute, that those are the types of extension lead which the maker has to reasonably assume people would be using when they give their generic advice against using them.

Ironically, when you decided to carry on arguing, you presented what you thought was proof you were right, but in fact was the opposite.

And then when I showed how the results of your search did not back up your claim, you resorted to insults.

I normally avoid that sort of thing completely once it goes off topic but obviously I was offended by his attitude.

So you are offended by the attitude that truth and accuracy matter.

..Looks like i missed a lot of 'fun' and arguments here lol

First off i'd like to say a HUGE thank you to you all for all your help. It honestly saved us a lot of money and allowed my wife to come home.

I did it and works fine. Ialso spoke to the mediquip person (The person who brings the beds and equipment) and asked him about the bed. This was his reaction:

"... Who told you this?"
I explained who and he said

"Ignore them. Put in a complaint about them and send them the bill it cost you to fit these. These beds can be put into gangway plugs easily as you say (I said I thought/knew they could be). It even says in the instructions they can be put in the plugs.. Wana know what I think? Theres recently been a fire at some ones house who had one of these plugged into a cheap gangway plug OR overloaded the plug by plugging god knows what into it and now they're covering their arses. Ignore em. Put it into a gangway plug and forget about it" He even gave me a very nice gangway plug with extra protection on it.
