Well, archaeologists have found evidence of the quarries he described and the block size he mentioned. The also have found the ports at the quarries which verify his claims about using botas/rivers to transport things.

Eye witness accounts which are backed up by hard evidence.

Right, so that confirms it then? At the back of my property, I have a pile of surplus bricks, left over from when I built this house in a week. The tools I used, are in a builder's bucket, in my garage - plus my say, so. Is that enough evidence to convince you I built it in a week?

Not exactly no, but it does point to it not being built by aliens or a superior civilisation, who then just disappeared.

If you are just going to dismiss clear evidence then I have no idea how you arrive at any beliefs at all.

There's a line of thought that the 'Aliens built the pyramids' crowd are in part driven by racism. They don't think that non-european, especially African, civilisations could build such impressive things when Europe was a barbaric backwater.

It's why the Rome comparison is so interesting, Rome wasn't significantly more advanced but no one seems to question their capacity to build huge things and move heavy rocks.
