depending on the contract held by the bloke, and its not clear at all what one he's on, he could be entitled to nothing at all or for a complete cylinder change.

at £18 a month I'd expect it to be the 400 and therefore the cylinder is covered. Even Bg aren't that expensive :D
The installation fault that the article clearly hasn't picked up on is indefensible.

9 years ago i sat in a meeting where management where openly boasting and laughing about a patch that where charging for cylinders on 3 star. Word was they had not done a single one free as it should be in a year.
I turned to the union guy of that patch who was also the area guy and said how the fek can you be allowing that to happen.
His reply was do you want money or morals.
Told him he was a feking disgrace and how would he feel if someone was ripping his granny or mum off like this he shrugged his shoulders.
Management said how can we get everyone to follow suit.

Looks like they got there wish

Homeserve don't fair much better but WB come out quite well.

Are you BG bashing again? Seriously dangertit, get a life they're here to stay ...
I wouldn't put too much money on that. There is a fair chance the next centrica exercise will be asset stripping. It's either that, or branching out, and there is not a whole lot of choice in growth markets for the next few years.

We used to have some rogue contractors when I first started out with BG who just put their FGA in the flue and that was it :D I know plenty of people do in on RS boilers but bbus is a bit taking the pi$$

I heard of both direct and contractors doing 10-12 BBUs a day. Impossible to do all them properly in a normal day.
I thought a normal day normally had about 24 hours, surely you can service a bbu in over 2 hours?
Must admit I have come across a couple of old boilers that needed quite a bit more to get them going.

I'm a little worried after reading this, I thought Homserve was supposed to be good.

What is the best thing to do when our Vaillant's guarantee runs out?

and that could be BG's downfall. using s**t labour to do a job they cant possibly manage. a BBU is one hour, even if you clean nothing cos its spotless you will still take the guts of an hour to strip it to find that out.

BG management need shooting if they think thats progress.

Please don't disrespect contractors en mass. You show yourself up. blanket statements are naiive and incorrect.

Nickso an hour  .
From walking in the door to having any baxi back boiler stripped completly down less than 10 minutes .

Isn't that an example of deception and fraud? The management knew what was going on and (unoffically) approved so they could make a few more quid out of vunerable customers who didn't know any better.

Have you seen the way bg have piped the open vent up in the picture with the article? It never rains but it pours. . . . .

Homeserve are alot better than ****ish gas, the good thing about your boiler with the diagnostics it virtually tells you what the problem is.

But deception and fraud is synonymous with British Gas, they have the Patent.

We have know about the sharks ripping old people of for years, and quality control means check the bank notes are legit.

DM . You really do need to get a life and forget you couldn`t make the grade that way you will be able to move on .
Any valid point you may have is completely lost by your non stop bile.
Management loved people like yourself at team briefs etc because inane mouthing just took all credibility away from genuine concerns within the team and no time was left to address them.
Management would walk out with smile on there faces thinking everytime without fail.

True but to charge £350 for something covered by their contract and then on top of that to pipe the open vent incorrectly in a potencially dangerous manner (see photo in article) really does take the pi$$.

But I suppose the money from these little scams goes towards the champagne at the christmas do and the gold plated multi million pound bonus' for the fat cats.

Anyone who buys anything off ****ish gas must be mental!

I on the list for their one off-repair for £99 including call out, parts and labour.

I couldn't mislead, mis-sell and rip off customers that's why I left ****ish gas; I wouldn't be able to sleep at night.

As for management I couldn't give a to$$ what they think they're a load of shysters.
