I'm no optician but i do not think sunglasses restrict your sight in the same way,if at all,as darkened glass..

Having had some prescription sunglasses made at specsavers (other rival opticians are available ) I was told there were three levels of tint available.

The highest of the three (called class 4?) is illegal to drive with.

"According to the AA: “Filter category 4 lenses only transmit between 3% and 8% of light and are not suitable for driving at any time.
If you have these type of sunglasses, then it is illegal to use them while driving...”

Personally I find the fact that schools in the UK (one of only a couple of countries in Europe I believe) force pupils to wear a uniform 'oppressive'.
And that is on a much larger scale!

School uniform is a totally different thing. It doesn't create a divide for a start as it doesn't cover the face. In fact, it's the opposite, it's a unity for the pupils. School uniform has many plus points, from stopping clothes related peer-pressure, bullying and it teaches kids discipline. I don't think school uniform is oppressive.

Or have you simply been 'conditioned' yourself?

If you have experienced other European education systems, you would understand that when individualism is the norm, peer pressure/bullying over clothes doesn't have the same affect as it does in the UK.

And guess what - peer pressure/bullying over clothes still happens outside school in the UK!

So hard up parents here have not only to keep up with clothes fashion costs outside of school hours, they have to also afford the ever increasing school uniform costs that has become a 'money maker' for our privatised education system!

So the thing is that now you can often spot the 'poor kids' by the fact that their parents buy them oversized uniforms to avoid buying twice, and when the unform inevitably becomes dirty/torn they still have to 'make do'!

But hey, if you can provide any independant study that shows school uniforms reduce bullying and increase pupil performance then feel free to do so.
(The search for such a study may lead to a bit of 'education' for yourself )

No, no, who am I to argue with your 'logic' that school uniforms are a big oppressor and should be used as part of an argument and comparison about wearing burkas.

Where is your scientific study that shows a direct link between clothes free for all,better exam results and reduction in bullying.??? That I would like to see!....A proper scientific double blind study!!
