But people still need, and the false economy of delayed servicing and repairs often means the purchase of a new carNo, the other businesses in our sector are struggling too and we're all scrapping over what business there is available, driving down prices to unsustainable levels.
Demand has been suppressed by government actions and prices have been raised by government actions. Put the two together and you crash the economy.
Using your example, people buy fewer cars, car manufacturers lay off staff, car manufacturer suppliers lay off staff, consumer confidence goes down, even less cars get sold, manufacturers lay off more staff etc etc and the doom loop continues as the effect spreads out into retail, house building and all the other areas of the economy.
Business goes on if it's profitable. If it's not, then move on.
