If people wanted to give businesses more billions, just keep burning fossil fuels. Those companies certainly don't need anymore cash.

But for the rest of us, not tackling climate change would be far more expensive than implementing ways to address it (such as renewables, nuclear etc).
A few more examples of what we could do:
Frequent flyers and private jets should be more heavily taxed.
Develop our cities to enable more people to cycle/walk/take public transport

There are loads more any one of of us could think of.

If the government want to give big business more money, and I have no idea why, just pay them more. There is no need to invent a climate change scam to be able to do it.

They've been saying this for as long as I can remember, at least since the 70s.
The sea level has not moved since, not one single millimetre.
I go every summer to the same beaches and I can spot the same rocks near the water that have been there 5 decades.
My friends in California and Florida experienced exactly the same thing.
But of course this observation is wrong.
We must trust the science telling us that sea level increased by 3 meters or thereabouts.
