so using your thoughts how do they know it was cooler or warmer in the past if there was as you say no accurate instruments are they making it up ?

Definite then that the temp has risen 1 degree in the last hundred years. The 4.4 billion years previous temps all estimated? That's conclusive evidence?

The earth has been in a natural cooling phase for thousands of years. Temperatures were slowly dropping before the Industrial Revolution. At first, relatively small amounts of CO2 were produced by industrialisation, so the earth continued to cool. Also, there is a time lag.

But surely it should have risen between 1880 and 1915 not dropped right in the middle of that industrial revolution as it had been rising before then .
