I have great respect for this day too, and I will even be showing my respects again at 11am tomorrow (the 11th)

These ba$tards attending the COP and preaching for more tax to us mortal, pollute the equivalent of an entire country in a week.
These hypocrites are only there to find new ways to tax us, they don't give a damn about the environment.
Look at the midget: gone there with his usual entourage on an all paid great holiday, polluting enough for a month of all Londoners.
I would be glad to see all of them locked in there indefinitely.

We, the masses, lectured at by the 'great' and the 'good', most of whom live in the lap of luxury, many of whom will have more than one home, more than one vehicle, travel abroad multiple times a year, don't have to worry about day to day costs etc.

1) an 8 mile stretch of a 4 lane highway is about 60 acres, lets say 200 acres for all the additional works etc
so where is the 10,000 acres coming from?
2) its not being built for the COP30 summit:
the Avenida Liberdade highway was originally planned in 2012 and its purpose is connecting two existing transportation networks while providing an additional entry and exit path for the Belém Metropolitan Region
3) the highway project was not included among the 33 official infrastructure initiatives designated for COP30 preparation.
4) sine 1988 an average of 10,000 acres of Amazon rainforest has been lost every day
I agree that it is a poor location to hold such a conference, but at the same time it may bring more pro environmental funding and awareness to the region.

Although, to be fair, he did quote you as only mentioning 10,000 acres, not the multiples of that which you did mention.
If you followed the conversation properly you would realise the difference between cutting a road thorough 10,000 and a road taking up 10,000
