Can a flue inspection hatch be at the flue terminal itself? A hatch with the terminal running through the centre of it. Just remove a hatch at the flue terminal. I read that an inspection hatch has to be within 1.5 metres of any concealed flue joint. Removing the hatch/plate which is around the flue terminal outside of the house will give a clear view of the flue. That must conform to the regs. Any views.
No, a neighbour who is considering a few boiler positions in his kitchen (at the design and pricing stage), in a kitchen make over and boiler replacement. One position is having the flue extended in a duct to hide the flue. The best position for many reasons. I believe it needs a CO boiler shut-off sensing the flue duct. Sourcing and pricing one is difficult.
I believe Baxi make one of these. I want to see it one is suitable for a flue in a short duct. Wireless not necessary. Who sells these?
thanks
The flue duct would be horizontal at high wall/ceiling level running about 1.7 m to the outside where the terminal will be over 2 m high from floor level. The flue terminal can be in the centre of a split inspection cover accessed from outside. The flue joint will be 300-400mm into the duct from the terminal so visible from the inspection cover at the end of the duct.I would love to see that? Presumably this is not on a roof?
That would be an opening in the fabric of the buildingCan a flue inspection hatch be at the flue terminal itself? A hatch with the terminal running through the centre of it.
