That doesn't mean it has anything to do with COVID.
Yes it does, because it's COVID 19 that put him in hospital.

COVID 19, you know? The one we're talking about?

He doesn't have asthma. He's tested +ve for covid. He doesn't have anything wrong otherwise so he should be mendable.

Being hospitalised with a positive test is not evidence that it is the cause of the hospitalisation.
God you're a troll.
I already said he doesn't have anything else. Okay??
He had covid symptoms for a few days getting worse.
Lateral flow test positive.
They took him in by ambulance and did a pcr test; +ve.
He's on oxygen.

What would you do, send home with Lemsip?

Just in passing...

What 'symptoms' of the 'virus' were these?

Because the list of 'symptoms' is now so long it also covers virtually every illness know to humankind!

It would be interesting to hear whether your friend's hospital admission turns out to actually be because of the 'virus' or caused by some other underlying problem...

I say that because I know an alcoholic who has problems breathing - it is a classic symptom.
And alcoholism degrades the immune system leading to susceptibility to other illnesses.

I had covid over Easter, I wouldn’t mind not getting it again this year.

Im hoping natural acquired immunity will keep it at bay.

Im up for the booster (y)
Omicron doesn't leave much natural immunity. The vaccines do have some effect to protect you from it, but there's a lot of people catching nearly back to back Omicron infections.

He's not an alcoholic. Doesn't drink and drive, for example. When his wife's driving he enjoys it.
Why are you so determined to suggest doctors are wrong? They know what they're talking about. They aren't prejudiced cynical nutters.

From what I've read it rather more nuanced. Almost any prior exposure, through jab or infection, giving protection against "more serious effects".
Early on it was found in the lab that Omicron gave really good protection against serious effects from Delta, for eg.

A bit like the way we easily catch a new strain of flu but it doesn't usually kill us, whereas it could wipe out a community on some island which had never seen flu.

There are several articles using the term "hybrid immunity".

so you still washing your hand s umpteen times a day for at least 20 seconds wearing a mask and keeping 2 metres away from people after all there is more covid out there now than when the science told you to do these precautions or are you selective about what science ?
Surely you're not suggesting we don't need to wash the surfaces of all food packaging??o_O

It might be the cause but it's not guaranteed. PCR testing is pseudoscience.

Clever people have never taken a COVID "test".
Perhaps you'd like to tell us the probability of not having covid if both lateral flow and PCR tests are positive, and you have the symptoms?

I wonder why the uk health security agency has stopped publishing deaths by vaccination status would it be because it no longer backs up the their narrative that vaccines prevent death
They never said prevent - you're straw-man-ing.
