What about deep fried battered mars bars?! Yak!
loved the quote in the sweeny by regan to the scottish detective
"thats rich coming from a man whose countrymen batter everything from their grannys to mars bars!"

Dont you love when you are munching on a sweet digestive, and you get a spot of salty flavour? I love the combination!![]()
Other odd combinations which you'd think wouldn't work?

The magic missing ingredient is Tabasco sauce.I've been trying to crack a particular combination for a number of years now. So far I've got two parts Greek yoghurt and one part horseradish sauce but something is missing and I can't work it out. Someone suggested anchovies but they were two salty and Greek style black olives weren't quite right either.
I'm not making this up. There must be a market out there for alternative yoghurts. Maybe smoked mackerel is the answer.
are they nice?Talking of digestives, has anyone seen the purple digestives they have in Japan? They're made with powdered sweet potato apparently. Mmmmmm![]()

Thanks for the tip Tim. I'll certainly give it a try but should I also remove the horseradish sauce? It was never quite right; just the best imitation I could come up with at the time. (My first attempt used actual radishes but the flavour was completely lost.)

As I once said in a different thread, my favourite yoghurt flavour doesn't come in plastic tubs - and if I elaborate any further this reply will surely be deleted!
No sorry, I still don't get it.
