Dual personalities

An unrelated forum I use has a section in the members profile which lists all previous display name ID’s & date of change; it doesn’t (seem to) allow multiple ID’s though but I’m sure there is a way around it for the determined.

Can’t see the point really except for a bit of forum baiting or to wind up the unsuspecting; at least it’s a harmless way of getting your ‘jollies’ I suppose!
I agree with richard, there again I could be one of his Ids

Trazor: Esra_ptrap is quite correct, all demographic information held by websites during registration is subject to the terms of the data protection act as the act does not differentiate between real/fictitious information.

Using this information to identify idividuals (assuming it were possible to do so from the information held) would be a breach under the act and the site owners could face legal action.

Isn't trazor just suggesting that the mods could publish a list saying that..... and this is just an example here:

gcol also uses the names:
trazor
megawatt
softus
moz
etc
etc

That was my understanding of his post. If that's the case, where's the harm in that? It's not like it identifies anyone. (assuming they don't have their e-mail addresses in their profile that is)

I agree with gcol. But then I would, 'cos he's me. I mean you're me. Er, I'm me. Er, I'm you? :?

Gotta love the way that fastneattrowel starts off by accusing Softus of something, then is too tired to back up the accusation and then gets shot down in flames...

(and no, I'm not Softus' alter ego)

I think if you added the number of posts Softus has made to the number of posts of people he's accused of being, then I think we'd find it was impossible for any one man (or woman  ) to make that many posts and still have time to eat. :D

Perhaps it's a conspiracy & they all work for him

Please.....Please.....Please........Understand, that by linking 2 identities you are revealing NOTHING that is not already viewable, when you click on a user name.
Any information in your viewing profile, is their by your consent, for others to view already.

It was totally pointless for "Esra_ptrap" to raise this issue................
