fines for middle lane hogging

I didn't bump him you dope.

How many speeding tickets have you had then?

Not much of a driver are you?

I'm actually a phenomenal driver as it happens. Have incredible car handling skills again like Pred have driven everything from motorbikes to cars to HGVs , forklifts , racing cars in fact if it has wheels I have been on it from skateboards to cycles (junior champion) go karts (wins, pole positions , 2nd in club championship) slowest car driven my corsa 1.2 which Iove , fastest atom supercharged.. I'm a driving god.... and haven't ever bumped anyone.

speed doesn't kill Joe only inappropriate speed.

Road awareness and positioning however seems to be a mystery to you.

I personally think a lot of things are a mystery to Joe..

You'd have thought you'd have brain enough to follow the rules that your licence says you must follow by now. Not very bright.

How many times has Mr Speedy had a ticket then?

yawn

How many speeding fines you ask? I honestly can't remember, most of them like the one I got for doing 109mph was paid for by my union, one thing I do remember though, I never caused an accident or got done for dangerous driving!

But you are obviously an idiot that shouldn't be on the road.

And if I'm doing 70 on a motorway and there's some Rshole behind me wanting to get past, I don't give a toss so you're right about that as well.
I'm now visualising plod trying to get past you to deliver your ticket. Don't hold back when it is mind. Make sure you stick to your principle and tell it to him exactly like it is. A couple of well chosen hand signs will put him in his place as well - and might even make him realise what an rshole he is and that you were right all along. He might even not bother stopping you. Got to be worth a try.

And when plod delivers his ticket he's going to have to stand up in court and explain how a vehicle travelling at the national speed limit could be holding other people up, whatever lane they are in.

He will not nick you for speeding but might get you with "Driving without reasonable consideration for other road users"

Is it not reasonable to expect other road users to stick to the speed limit then?

I now drive within the speed limits but I know most drivers will not. So, it's unreasonable to expect that they will.

A group of old duffers around here with nothing better to do set up a little club called the "fenland traffic calmers" Got themselves and their campaign in the papers but they soon disbanded when they started getting tickets themselves.

Get a Landrover Defender and you'll never be ABLE to get out of that left-hand lane

I was wondering how much carnage you've caused on the motorways Joe, you realize that if you're doing a steady 70mph as indicated by your speedo you are in actual fact probably doing 65 as manufacturers err on the side of caution, the guy behind you is ever so slowly creeping up on you, his speedo is also reading 70, he eases off, this causes the guy behind him to brake a bit, so he's down to 63 and like a chain reaction everyone else has to brake, each one a little harder than the one in front, half a mile back they're at a standstill, even the young girl who only passed her test a week previous, she's at a standstill as she didn't even see it coming, her blood smeared all over the smashed windscreen, good one Joe, ACCIDENTS DON'T HAPPEN, THEY ARE CAUSED!

Its called fluid dynamics . . also known as a Mexican wave.

Travelling on a two lane dual carriageway the other week when the traffic ahead came to a stop . . we set off again . . stop again ..carried on like this for about five complete stops until the miscreant ahead appeared... nothing more than a couple of American Army wartime jeeps doing the left lane at about 50mph.

The problem was rubberneckers and traffic from the inside lane pushing into the outside lane to pass them causing the outside lane to back up and keep developing full stops.

Of course as you say Joe cruising his middle lane hasn't the forethought to realise his driving causes seriously dangerous situations like this.

Just like the 40mph drivers on 60mph trunk roads who justify their actions by claiming people can pass if they want to. In modern dense traffic an opportunity might not present itself for 10 miles or so.
