What are the requirements regarding MOTs on all these Eastern European cars that are driving around now, does their existing country of origin one cover them or are they required by UK regulations to have a UK MOT?

depends on how long they stay in the country. they need registering after staying here for a certain time.

after 6 months perminant residence you have to re-register with a british identity then abide by british law as you would with any vehicle
