There are a few here that hint at being interested in UK immigration [/sarcasm].

To that end I thought this blog entry might be of interest:
"Conclusion

Net migration will fall very sharply in future years as a result of immigration restrictions brought in by both the current and the previous government. Furthermore, emigration will continue to increase, particularly of people with graduate visas. Any political benefit the government may gain from this fall in immigration could be jeopardised by the economic damage that it causes."

So is the summary, that wealthy, brainy net contributor people are leaving and being replaced with poorer net benefiters?

That’s going to end well.

That already happened after Brexit, when we eventually had surrender all our advantages. Late to the party as usual.

These sudden claims about British citizens emigrating is basically just right wingers deliberately distorting a change in the methodology:

So that would be the Boris administration distorting facts to suit themselves? Figures.

No, it was actually under this government. The change happened at the end of last year.

The ONS had believed for many years that the numbers for British citizens leaving and returning to the UK, on a long term basis, were way out. So, they completely changed the methodology. This did indeed show that both figures had been far too low. But the right wingers only jumped on one set of figures. Basically, the new methodology showed that emigration of British citizens had increased from about 100,000 to about 250,000. This gave them an opportunity to claim that the Labour government had caused lots more British citizens to leave the UK. What they ignored, was that the number of British citizens returning also shot up under the new methodology, and that the net migration of British citizens stayed the same. The new methodology was actually backdated to 2021, but those with an agenda chose to ignore that!
