Hi, I have decided to build a double garage and want advice on the best brick to use (concentrate block???). It will be rendered afterwards so really I want the most cost effective and easier solution. This will be my first building project and I want to make it as easy as possible.

Concentrate block? I prefer freshly squeezed myself, concrete blocks that is ;)

A lightweight block is easier to lay but doesn't take the render quite as well as a dense concrete block. Also lightweight provide better heat insulation, heavies better for sound insulation.

You are just using this as a normal garage? for storing the car, tools and junk? If so, take your pick, doesn't really matter.

I take it you have foundations sorted, pillars built into the wall, roof construction etc, damp proof etc?
