I was reading a spec sheet on TLC, for MK accessories, specifically their logic plus socket outlets.

In with the tech data is "maximum altitude 2000m"

Why is this? Does anyone have an actual reason?

perhaps you can't buy a stick long enough to switch it on over that height

either that or it interferes with low flying aircraft :!:

Reduced oxygen levels or other composition changes in the atmosphere affect the materials?

you're closer to the lightening so it needs more insulation and better impulse withstands..

possibly to do with B/Standards, the components under humididity at altitude could track out between the connections etc.
2000 met seems to be the benchmark for most stuff.

Not that you'd likely be installing UK stuff (highest point in UK is Ben Nevis at 1344m), but up mountains at e.g. ski resorts you could quite easily be above 2000m...
