Ironically the SNP have usedvthe same nationalistic arguments as brexit.

Rather amusing that brexiteers think brexit is great but Socttish independence is wrong.

I guess its easier to pick holes in other peoples dumb arguments than your own

Yep, has been pointed out several times before that English people who think independence is best for our country are totally against the idea of Scottish also being independent.

Bloody hypocrites. Either a country should have the right to become independent, or it shouldn't. Yo ucan't have yer cake and eat it.

Campaign to stop Brexit, or support Scottish independence.

Agreed, the Scots should have a referendum over independence, after Brexit has been finalised. We will then see the true feelings of the people, whether they want total independence, or be a part of the UK or eu. If they choose eu, then they are being hypocritical.

They chose the EU in the referendum ... In 2014, yes got 44.7% of the vote. But in 2014, the conservatives had twice as many seats and much more influence.
I only have one good Scottish friend, but he genuinely believes that Scotland would be a wealthier nation if it was independent (and he is a senior manager of an international bank, and has economics or accounting degree of somesort, he is a clever chap).

The main political point is that the current government does not represent Scotland. It would be like the SNP governing England, but mostly ignoring us and only focusing on what is good for Scotland. Not many people would agree with that set-up.

How many bad Scottish friends do you have? :cautious:

This whizkid doesn't work for RBS does he? If so, best not take his financial advice.

Bloody hypocrites. Either a country should have the right to become independent, or it shouldn't.

They had their chance to become independent. The question asked in the Scottish referendum was "Should Scotland be an independent country?"

They chose no. End of. Just like the UK referendum, you can’t just keep asking until you get the answer wee Jimmy wants. As sure as eggs are eggs, if they were asked again and said no again, she'd still want another referendum, and another... Remember, everyone was saying after the UK ref that most people had changed their mind/we all knew more about it/all the 16 year olds who were now 18 would swing the vote to remain and what happened in a GE which was all based on Brexit? Biggest Tory majority for years. Give up FFS.

No, he works for a big Chinese bank. The only non-Chinese they'd let into the boardroom!

Yes let's just keep having referendums until we get the result we want.

Why not? We've had 3 elections in the last 5 years, as the government was not happy with the 2015 and 2017 results.
We have a world cup every 4 years.
Maybe the EU and union should decided on a referendum every 4 years too.

I have a friend who's son is also the only non-Chinese for a Chinese company. “White Monkey” work it’s called. Nothing particularly clever in it. Look it up if you don’t believe me.

Please take this thread seriously with your comments. It's an emotive subject for the Welsh.
