How much power does a hot tub use. As my mum is thinking of maybe getting one a go up the top of the garden.

Also what size cable & MCB do they use :?:

Would I be able to run it of the Shed CCU (the shed is fed by 6mm 3core SWA) on it's own MCB, as there are 2 spare ways :?:

Or would I have to run a new circuit off from the house CCU :?:

The length of the shed feed is about 15m from the house CCU to the shed CCU.

The length of the run, from the shed CCU to where the Hot Tub will go is about 27m

Or 42m from the House CCU to where the Hot Tub will go.

How the %^$& is anyone able to guess the size and spec ????????

Here's a 3 person one (they range from 2 to 8 people)

Could you do some of the work and post your answer and just ask for varification next time :D

The ones we wire (subbed from a hot tub firm) are generally 32amps. They do some smaller 20amp ones, but we still wire for 32amps.

You need to find the loading, and then we can calc the size of cable required.

Models with a rating lower than 32amp will generally switch off the heater element when you use the hot tub, using the power for the pumps instead. The larger models can run the heating elements and the pumps together - so less heat loss when the cover is off!

makes sense, you may get a replacement tub oneday, imagine it braking then getting the better one on warranty then having to uprate the electrics!

Last one I did required a 40A SP supply.

I'm looking to buy a car. Does anyone know what size engine it will have?

About a foot wide at the top, a bit wider at the bottom. 1 foot 6 inches long and 2 foot high......

Do they do any other sort?

I was hoping for a metric engine if possible

Engine capacity in Litres, power output in PS, not bhp..How much more metric would you like?

The hot says it uses a 13 Amp socket.

The run of SWA will be 42m from the House CCU to where the Hot Tub will go.

I was going to have the hot tub on a RCBO in the house CCU,& use 3 core SWA.

So what size cable would be needed :?: & would it be a 16 A RCBO that is needed :?:

Hot tubs. Marvellous, aren't they? Green as you like and oh, so handy; why, it's a wonder so many people can live without them!

Just like all those home saunas, advertised along with the sheds in the classified ads pages back in the seventies! :D

The hot says it uses a 13 Amp socket.

Have you learned nothing in your 389 posts on this forum.

If you give no information then you will get no help and derision.

I have a bedside light plugged into a 13A socket
I have a fan oven plugged into a 13A socket.

If I extend the 13A supply 42 metres down the garden what do you think the effect will be on:
a) the brightness of the light
b) the heat of the oven

Tell us the actual power rating and you may, just may get some help. But, if I'm any judge, most of your regular helpers have already lost interest........ :!:
