How safe are you?

Some were weird for me.

One I remember in particular was about the minimum you should apply cold water or an ice pack or something chilly to a burn victim's wound at a RTA: 30 secs, 60 secs, 5 minutes or 10 minutes?

I put 10 minutes, but feel I may have it wrong as "the minimum". (For as long as you can IIRC). Not sure how or why that's relevant in terms of actual driver or rider ability mind. :? (I did the rider one btw).

I'm also confused about the test marks. I got 50/50 in Part 1 and 50/50 on part two but when I pressed the final score I got one wrong 99/100 :? (Unless I miss-read something).

Anyway, considering I passed my bike test 38 years ago and have only looked at the Highway Code once since then, to pass my car test in ~84, I think I did pretty well :D

Not doing it again; something about it won't record your first one and I may get less if I try again trying to work out where I went wrong...

i think tests like this are to see if you have an ounce of common savvy.been years since i too looked at the book.but at the end of the day it doesnt do us any harm that once in a while things like this are found and you have a go at doing them.

i think nowadays they even get the candidate to open up the bonnet and explain what certain things are?
be a bit hard in my smax as theres a bloody great big cover over everything,so to find the started motor will be a tad hard for a novice.

well i got 41
but i have never driven or looked at anything to do with driving
my only dealing are as a passenger :D

Don't know how you can be bothered with that. Most of it is irrelevant.
Driving is about practical skills. With experience you just hit the "autopilot".

That's true; you learn to pass your test, not to drive.
You often see driving instructors cutting corners (figuratively-speaking) and most of it just comes with experience.
The best rule is - if in doubt, hold back.

42 on both !! --- fail  Oh well I have a clean licence, they have none!! tee hee!!

Just done test now and got 48 on the 1st and 47 on the 2nd.

And I've not been driving for coming up to 2 whole years now. :|

Used to drive all over, delivering stuff on multi-drop runs up and down the country, Wales, Yorks, North East, Mids, Scotland, London, Cornwall and North West. You name it, I've been there, or if, not, near!

Miss it terribly.
