How to avoid a day out with the family...

Dunno what it runs on Tim but one thing is for sure, these sticky pads 'dunarf itch!' They seem much worse than the ones I had on the other night and I had them on all night.

I was in and out wotan. I arrived about 20mins early (I like to be on time), and told the receptionist I was here. Asked if it was ok to nip to the loo. Went to the loo, came out and my name was called! Straight in. The nurse said right get ya shirt off! We'd only just met!

Anyway, it's not comfortable and I doubt much sleep will be had tonight but hopefully it'll be worth it in the end. My son thinks I look like a Transformer! I'm trying to make light of the whole thing. Don't want him getting upset. I watched both my parents get ill and eventually die. I've always said that I don't want him seeing the same thing at such an early age. Obviously it'll happen one day but I'd like it for ALL of us if it's not for a VERY long time to come.

I'm away next week lads so if I don't get a chance to get back on, I'll update ya on my return.

Cheers.

Blas your fear of what might happen, compared to what happened to your parents, is almost exactly the same as mine, my dad was taken into hospital, suffering I suspect, what we have both been through, medical care was not as advanced then as it is now, and he did not make it, he was a heavy smoker and suffered from chronic bronchitis, the coughing brought on the heart trouble.
To be honest I was bricking it, when I was taken in, not for myself but for my family.
But the attention I have received and still receive , has been second to none, you will get through this, and live a good few more years yet.
Good luck..

Wotan

'Good Few'! I want more than a good few wotan! I want at least the same time again as I've had already!!

I feel fine mate. Had a short chat with the specialist nurse there today and she put my mind at rest as well. As you have already said, it's just something I'll live with. Not sure I'll be running any marathons like but then I never ran any before! :D BUT, I like the sound of 'LIVE' with it. LIVE has a much nicer ring to it than the other option I think.

Of course you want more than just good few years it was me just being conservative. ;)

Hi Blas,
Hope you had a reasonable nights sleep wearing the electronic octopus, and that the information stored therein is good, it will all help for a speedy
treatment plan, and hopefully a good recovery.

Wotan

Thank you wotan. :)

Just to keep you informed gents. Had my scan this morning so I suppose I'm just waiting for a consultant to go through everything now.

I feel fine. My week away in the cotswolds in the cottage was ok but I'd liked to have been able to have a few glasses of wine or such but it's a small sacrifice. My young-un loved Legoland but again, it would have been nice to be able to have done more with him. I'll have to make it up later.

Hi Blas welcome back, glad you are feeling not too bad, and that you enjoyed the break, one of my sacrifices was to cut out the brandy.
It was expensive anyway, so may be a good thing.

I used to like a whisky years ago but, I don't know, I just went off it. I enjoy a glass of Red Wine. I like to have a beer and/or a lager (some lagers not all). I've never smoked and never done drugs...well, unless you count all the ones I'm on now! (prescribed). Perversely you kind of think to yourself that you wish you had, at least you'd be able to 'blame' something or yourself for taking them. Ah well, it could be a lot worse. I'll keep ya posted chaps.

Just want to say 'Welcome back' mate and hope the scan results are ecouraging
Thanks for keeping us updated.

red wine is supposed to be good for you........in moderation :D
