Immigration Crisis

How many went back under the Dublin agreement? Its well published.
The Dublin Agremment referred to asylum seekers applying for asylum in more than one country.
I was referring to agreements on returning failed asylum seekers.

It remains to be seen if this was a budget issue or a lack of will. I've not read anything to suggest the French authorities have agreed to intercept these illegals in French waters, which would immediately kill the illegal trafficking business. euro70M buys a lot of rescue and patrol. A lot more than we are getting as part of the French deal.
It isn't the simplistic situation that you like to imply. detecting refugees boats can not be accomplished well from the sea.
Even if it could it is the most dangerous place to attempt any apprehension. Dangerous to refugees as well as rescuers.

The RNLI run its entire service for a little over double that.
The RNLI responds to specific requests with approximate or even precise locations.
It does not patrol vast areas in case they are needed.

Internationally condemned as inhumane and illegal.

Another policy and practice that is illegal in EU and Greece.

Another illegal policy and practice.

Are you suggesting that UK exacerbates its attempts to behave illegally?
How far down this path of behaving illegally to prevent asylum seekers reaching UK are you prepared to go? As far as Andy11?

Worth remembering that while in French territory. Every single adult preparing, assisting and attempting to cross the channel to England in this way is committing criminal offences.
Worth remembering that it would be a hell of a waste of time, resources and money trying to prosecute for such offences.

Tories are taking their supporters for mugs. For 12 long years, since Terry May was Home Sec, Tories have been promising to reduce immigration. Instead it's increased. A lot. Regular headline grabbing initiatives like sending the sponging parasites floating this way to Rwanda are just headline grabbing initiatives. Wake up - like the economic migrants on the rubber dinghies, you're being taken for a ride.
You're ignoring the obvious fact that only a minority are failed asylum seekers. So your definition of sponging parasites is poor appraisal and intentional twisting of the reality.
Wake up - like the ignorant and gullible DM readers, you're being taken for a ride.

Now that we are a sovereign independent country fully in control of migration, it’s wonderful how there are no problems with housing, hospitals, transport, food now.

oh wait a minute, we now have massive shortages of cater, nurses, doctors, vets, fruit pickers, hospitality…..and every sector is forked, oh and housing is worse than ever and so are NHS waiting lists…..it’s almost like your argument is utter bolox (because it is).

Daily Mail readers gotta spout the bull :ROFLMAO:
Britain colonised countries all over the world, now the reverse is happening, the rest of the world is now colonising Britain.
Is there a correlation between rising immigration and National decline / standard of living.

Yes, it's shocking isn't it?
First the Neanderthals, then the homo sapiens, then the Romans, then the Germanics, then the Vikings, then the Normans, then the French, then the Dutch. What's to become of the English? (if they ever existed).

Is there a correlation between rising immigration and National decline / standard of living.
Is there any particular time frame you want to consider?
Be careful to choose a time frame that supports your supposition.

Is the "Australian Style Points Based Immigration System" still being pursued? Not heard anything about it from the government in ages.

OSB is still alive and kicking, so it can't be that illegal, inhumane and internationally condemned.

Worth remembering that it would be a hell of a waste of time, resources and money trying to prosecute for such offences.
Why? Surely the people of Northern France don't want their resources drained sorting out and rescuing illegal immigrants determined to throw them selves in the sea in crappy boats? I'm sure they don't want all the crime and criminal networks operating in their back yard.

I didn't actually mean that. We were told that after Brexit, to replace freedom of movement, we would get an "Australian Style Points Based Immigration System". But then we had covid, and it seems to have gone quiet.

EDIT: The OSB seems like our new Rwanda policy.

We need far more, maybe a million a year.
OK Notch, thanks for replying.

**stifles laughter and clears throat**

Would you answer a few questions please?

1) How did you arrive at that figure?
2) For how many years would you want them to come at that rate?
3) What would they all do - what is all this work you say is available for them?
4) How would they be managed? I assume you have some sort of plan in mind, after all you are constantly deriding the tories for their terrible handling of immigrants?
5) Are you not concerned about overcrowding?

So how many in here have taken in a refugee :ROFLMAO:

Or done any thing practicable to help out with this migrant crisis

Another hotel near me has given itself over to people claiming asylum, which surprise surprise hasn't gone down to well with the locals
Any Chipping Norton hotels given themselves over anybody know.?
