This is not exactly a DIY as I won't be doing this myself. I wanted to ask for the collective wisdom of what type of contractors this will entail (who will I need).
I want to increase the door height in my flat. Above the existing doors is hollow (plaster) and can be knocked down. I will need a custom made height (Around 2.30m door frame height). A carpenter said he can prepare the doors and frames for a price, but he doesn't do the fitting.
Do I have to find a door fitter to fit them in? Doesn't one company undertake the whole thing?
Also, I was told that I won't need to paint the whole wall afterwards, I can only paint around the new frame. The flat was painted six months ago.
