For my UK investments I use Interactive investor. For my US e*trade. Interactive investor is ok. Monthly fees are a bit high. But on a 5k starter with regular deposits. Is probably irrelevant

Others will tell you its a stup1d idea as it will be eroded by inflation. But if you have more than you need, savings is fine. For those who need a bit more than 3-5% some risk taking is needed.
