I'm sure it has been said on here before that sockets should not be fixed to kitchen units as they are not part of the structure of a building. Is that correct?

I have a large kitchen island with an electric/gas range cooker in it and a sink with waste disposal. Where should power outlets be fixed in a case like this, i.e. no outside walls, island on a wooden floor?

Don't you have a gable end (as the kitchen fitters call it) or a blank panel between draws or cupboard doors where the isolators could go.

Nothing wrong with going inside a cupboard though, but best not in a place that's going to get buried behind a pile of tea-towels.
