They aren’t alive any longer and they cannot be threatened. I see people committing the most heinous hurts towards others every day. Ego. The need to be right and the need to make the other wrong... comes in all forms. Recently, it had made the news with beheadings. Last week it was stabbings in my hometown. Last year, poisonings. The list is endless of how a person can inflict harm and suffering to another.

Transferring pain and anger always leads to more pain and anger. But you know that already.
