Laws/contract/policy

Lots of info on the net IM if you need it.... suppliers of goods have a 'duty of care' to the consumer
.....the problem often is that people don't complain even when they have a justified reason to do so ...our acceptance of below standard goods and service, just means shoddy standards and goods become acceptable.

so, what are these "justified" reasons? and what constitutes a shoddy good or service?

One common legal myth: A shopkeeper must sell you an item at whatever price is shown on a price tag, even if it was a mistake and he meant to write £199.99 and not £19.99.

It's widely believed to be "the law," but completely false.

That right, the concept is called "offer to treat"

In effect, the shop is displaying a suggested price, and it is the customer who offers to buy (at the displayed price) and it is then the shop keeper who accepts or declines the offer

The shop keeper is not offering to sell at the displayed price

So if he has mislabelled the price, he can reject the customers offer and refuse to sell

Woody is spot on. It's all in the Law of Contracts. I had a book on it once.
