I`m drawings up some drawings for building reg but struggling to get info on what building regulation accept or advise.

I may miss some point but on planning portal they do not specify a single element.

is there any guide or something to use a reference point?

Thanks

Haynes manual Loft Conversions is as good as any.
But why not get a local technician to do the plans for you? - might save you much heartache later when you come up against the inspector.

May sound strange but I'm a technician myself but specialized on large building and I have been struggling to get correct info from any available portal. Will have a look the Haynes manual if is up to speed with latest BR update. Many thanks

Have you agreed to produce Building Regulation drawings for something you don’t know why or how the BR’s apply? Does your client know you’re not sure how to design to and meet the BR’s?

Do you want my client details and do it yourself?

This is for my house and the client is a pain the butt, better leave it to me :) I only worked on large commercial building for my work but trying to make it work for myself as money are tight. Any help would be appreciated.

In some cases, you may be able to find some BR style drawings online via the LPA’s website. Some applications have uploaded BR drawings as opposed to the more basic ones that are usually required for Planning.

All you can really do is refer to the Approved Documents in addition to requiring input from a structural engineer.

I hope the Haynes manual is better than the car manuals they now produce. Car manuals used to be spot on, now they just say things like the gearbox is to complicated to work on take it to a specialist, no good to me. They used to show full strip down and rebuilds, don't buy them anymore.

Loft Conversion Project Guide - Construction Products Association is quite good but hasn't been updated to include the latest Part B requirements.

If you have any specific B Reg questions post it on here and I'll answer them.
