What? Why is that a question?
It's a side-effect of lockdown. Why ask something you already knew?

The virus emerged in China. And spread rapidly worldwide via ships, aeroplanes and trains.
No Im not talking about corona virus.

It was 1957 and 20,000 dead and no lock down. AKA the asian flu.
Then 1968. The hong kong flu hits. 30,000 dead. Again no lock down.
The 2020 scamdemic rolls on.

You said:
"Why has the government, and those around the world, buggered up the economy if it was a scam?"
In effect, I asked:
"Why has the government, and those around the world, buggered up the economy even if it is genuine?"

That wasn't the question.
You and I weren't asking "What they did" but "Why they did it" whether genuine or not.

And.. this has what relevance to my post to EFL?
Or anything?

Instead of General forum, this should be pessimistic forum.
Only moaning & wining allowed.

In my opinion, the economy needed buggering up, if only to give everyone the chance to reset, and slow the headlong rush towards environmental destruction.
very good point

lockdown in March / April took pollution back to 1950 levels
and now people have realised they can work without doing so much travelling.

Im not sure how easy we can learn to enjoy turnips instead of avocados...........
