In my opinion, the economy needed buggering up, if only to give everyone the chance to reset, and slow the headlong rush towards environmental destruction.
A silver lining of a pandemic?!
I don't think it's a deliberate move though.

I think human habits will all return back to normal when it's over... for those lucky enough to ride it out anyway.

A low wage economy, zero hour contracts the norm and mass unemployment. No economy had fully recovered from the financial crash and weren't looking like they were going to anytime soon.
The Great Reset and a switch to The Green Economy, destroy the old world and build a new green one.

Dunno, could be, sounds a bit conspiracy theorist.

One question won't go away though, why would half the worlds governments trash their own economies and take on more sovereign debt than is possible to pay back based on a number of deaths that in historical terms are quite insignificant.

Coz China said “don’t worry, it was all our fault. Of course we will compensate you”

and slow the headlong rush towards environmental destruction.

To achieve that all you need to do is stop eating animals.
For every steak on your table a sentinent being had to pay the ultimate price.

Because the few who are controlling them stand to gain even more?

As usual, you can't read or comprehend.

Just because the single care home that you visit weekly is closed does not mean there is a nationwide lockdown of care homes, or even that another care home might be closed. Care homes in declared areas of intervention are taking extra precautions - some might choose to close. That's not a national lockdown.

For the record, the care home I visit more than once a week isn't closed. But unlike you, I recognise that my anecdote is just that - anecdote.

Knowing Notch as well as I do, my guess is that the care home staff dislike him intensely, and they've told him it's closed when in fact, it isn't.(y)

It should go away, because it's been answered a million times. It's only tens of thousands dead in the UK because of the action taken. There's this new thing called cause and effect, quite nifty as it turns out.

So, had no action been taken, how many would have died?

I never mentioned a "nationwide lockdown of care homes"

you said "care homes are not shut", I said they are, which is true.....

let me explain to you very simply:
"care homes" is the plural, ie more than one care home, on this thread Ryler and myself know of 1 care home that is shut, ergo the term "care homes are shut" is correct.

I am sorry that your command of the English language is restricting your comprehension
nevermind eh, have a cup of tea :ROFLMAO:

It's only tens of thousands dead in the UK because of the action taken.

Neil Ferguson, advisor to the Govt at the time predicted half a million deaths without lockdown.

He also predicted;

Bird Flu: 200 million deaths worldwide. So far 455 people have died.

Mad Cow Disease: 150,000 deaths. So far 178 people have died.
