Boris has the perennial problem that he is fishing in a very shallow pool, of politicians who are thick enough to support him, or dishonest enough to pretend that they do.
Im sure flirting works in international trade negotiations
At least Liz Truss knows being in the Single Market and being in the EU is the best option
She said in 2016:
"The UK environment secretary, Liz Truss, launched an impassioned plea to farmers on Tuesday to vote to stay within the European Union, but may face a greater struggle than expected.
Truss told delegates at the National Farmers’ Union annual conference that leaving the EU would be a “leap into the dark”.
She said: “I believe that by voting to remain we can work within a reformed EU to reduce bureaucracy and secure further reform while still enjoying the significant benefits of the single market, which gives us access to 500m consumers. We are able to export our high quality products freely, without the trade barriers we deal with elsewhere and with a say in the rules.”

So she's one of the dishonest Johnson supporters
This does not disqualify her from also being thick.

Is it credible that Frost resigned over Boris's Covid regulations, bearing in mind he wanted to quit at the beginning of December?
I find that incredible, personally, and Covid restrictions was merely a ruse to go despite Boris's wished that he remains until January.

As soon as the EU threatened to cancel the whole TCA Johnson cacked himself and the A16 threat suddenly disappeared
