Nigel’s statement. Resigning as MP. Forcing a by-election. Will stand again.

You mean he's cleaned up his act? Handed the bribe back? Turned the clock back on accepting bribes from a convicrted criminal?

The damage is done. The fact that your average Clacton RWR, is as dumb as a brick, has no bearing.
Says the bloke who said Starmer would see his full term out.

.....if he's been dishonest and isn't acting in the best interest of the electorate then he needs to be gone

NO HE DOESN'T! None of the accusations, true or otherwise, matter to the bigger picture. We need politicians to stop mass immigration. I would vote for Jimmy Savile, Gary Glitter and Peter Sutcliffe if they could manage that.

If they were in charge it would certainly keep people away!
To be fair to Peter Sutcliffe he did help to keep the population down.

Well I really think that this by-election shouldn't go ahead. All the parties are not putting candidates forward. The enquiry needs to run it's course first.

Good old Nige, a masterstroke.
I wonder, if he's re-elected, will there be anything to be investigated by the electoral commission as the £5 mil gift would have been well over 12 months before he was (re)elected?

It doesn't work like that.

I reckon a big % of MP's have skeletons in their wardrobes and also have been used to accepting nice 'gifts'. That's part and parcel of politics at that level. In America it is much worse!
Squirrels!
Where?

Not to mention walking into a directorship a few months after leaveing the very job in government that was in charge of regulating the same sector.
The revolving job door of politics.
There are rules. They can't just "walk-in" to any job that's offered after leaving.

If you imagine something is real and truthful, and blurt it out without thinking or verifying if it is true, don't be surprised if your claims, allegations or accusations ae checked and found to be false.

Exactly. It's the norm when it comes to being an MP.
The first step in not being super gullible is to not believe everything you read on the internet.

If you read my post properly you would realise that was not my angle on it. I didn't particularly comment on what he said or if the contents of it were genius.
'Played a blinder', 'Hoodwinked everybody', 'his statement was worded to make them think' are your comments which you deny is describing his 'angle or what he said?
How would you classify your comments then, if they weren't about his 'angle' or what he said?

They’re redundant, nobody’s standing against Nige from the main parties. This promises to be a stunning result for the Monster Raving Loony party
It's their best chance ever of winning a seat. :giggle:
All the electorate can honestly say, "we voted for the Monster Raving Looney party", without specifying which one, exactly. :giggle:
