On this day, June 3

A fascinating bit of history. On this day in 1953, Queen Elizabeth II was crowned at Westminster Abbey at just 27 years old. An interesting side note is that among the journalists covering the event was Jackie Bouvier of the Washington Times-Herald. It turned out to be one of her final reporting assignments before she married John F. Kennedy later that same year and became Jacqueline Kennedy, one of the most famous First Ladies in American history.
