My James vac in the workshop is on it's last legs, so I looked on FB spotted a used one a few miles from here and arranged to meet up halfway to collect it. It turned out the guy had the same car as me, belonged to the same car club and I mentioned a few of the issues I had developed solutions for, on the model. Fixes neither manufacturer, nor dealers had managed to find fixes for. Now he's dropping in next week, for help with implementing a few of those 'fixes'.

Last time out buying a used item, the same thing happened - I ended up fixing their heating system. They had returned from a holiday and their heating/HW system would not work. It is becoming a habit.

I fixed our new heating engineers motorcycle a few days after he'd serviced our boiler.

Just chatting about work and he mentioned he had some faults on a bike he'd just bought so I booked him in and fixed it (VFR 800 iirc).
