Outdoor socket!!!

Here you go guys. Came across this the other week, what do you think??

Note that the incoming supply goes into the socket through a stuffit gland and that the plug top goes on to feed another socket in a similar manner and then on to a shed.

Replaced it with this.....

Which is to be burried at least 18inches in sand with marker tape over..
 
The work done by the previous owner. The current owner wanted this and other things sorting out. Also found metal light switches and fitings on a lighting circuit which had no CPC, swapped all to plastic and put on RCD!! he wasn't impressed about that
 
Did the Metalclad RCD socket end up in the back of the van? :wink:
 
No, it went straight in the skip. Although I was tempted as I removed 4 but didn't feel that they could be trusted as they would have suffered moisture ingress even if they were protected from the rain!!!!
 
What were the terminations like at the other ends of the SWA?
 
As you can guess, there were no glands either at the house CU or final socket in the shed - also socket and lighting in shed (same circuit)!!
