Hi All,

Firstly thanks for taking the time out to read my thread.

I'm currently building a workshop in my garden, nothing fancy but it will do the do for me.

it will take up no more than 11% of the garden and is made from brick and block (cavity) and will have a hip style roof.

It's in from any boundary at least 2mtrs.

It's 2.5mtrs to eves and total height will be under 4mtrs

I've contacted the council and they have said it doesn't require planning due to it's size and location. Also it doesn't require building regs due to it being under the 30sq mtrs area.
To be fair it's completely over engineered in any case.

Thing is with it being permitted development can people still object to this and kick up a stink? has anyone ever had such a situation.

Any advice or thoughts on this, would be very much appreciated.

Many thanks

No but you could get agro. We went round to our neighbours to tell them what we were doing. They told us they didn't really like the idea, and we explained why we needed it. We agreed to disagree, politely, and then built. They came around recently and thanked us for discussing it with us, it made a huge difference, and we are all still friends :) Not that we were in the first place!
