Spotted this in the letters page.

Good practice it may be, but you don't need either.

By sheathing, I assume he means capping.

Self builder did their own wiring - so what, no law against it.
No capping - not required anyway.
'Bonding' - Presumably they mean no lead from socket to backbox - probably not needed either.
Certs missing - just like every other installation then. Or they were sent to BC and were not returned.
Part P a farce - nothing new there.
People only blamed when things go wrong - nothing new about that either, and in reality, what other way could there be?
Mick Towler - obviously a relative of Shirley Knott and all the other false identities.

I've noticed over the years a lot of the stories told in the letters pages show up the writers one way or another...

Maybe it should be renamed "Amateur Electrician"?

Many thanks for your email.

After many years writing Tripper, the Electrician that did so passed
away. We took the decision to let the Tripper character stop at that
time rather than getting another person to write the column... as
Tripper was particularly unique!

I think Norm from the IET forum would be a good replacement and would be a better read than the drivel that Tony Cable comes out with !
