I bet his 'Ding'a'ling's nothing to write home about.

Leslie Phillips, Carry On Old Smoothy, 88.

Jim Dale's still about too, a sprightly 76.

Big fan of the Carry Ons - corny British humour at it's best. They still make me laugh. Shame all the best ones are gone now.

Least we've still got Beautiful Baps (or is it Babs ;) )

Have you read Kenneth Wiliams diaries? If you are a fan of carry on, round the horne etc interesting background

I've heard about them, but never actually read them. If you recommend them, I might have a look. Have heard quite a few recordings of RTH.

Have watched the BBC2 documentary programme about Kenneth Williams, don't know what to make of him and he was very difficult to work with.

Definitely reccomend the Diaries , eps if interested in the Radio and tv of the time for little asides on the shows he was involved with.

Also not sure reading it if it was suicide or not.

Radio4 Extra (was Radio 7) for vintage comedy- RTH, Hancock etc.

Never liked the Goons though I have tried hard
