Police have dropped an investigation into alleged rape by Philpott because he refuses to cooperate and the victims are too scared to talk.

I've heard it all now.

Put yourself in the place of one of these women.

Yes, to others there may seem no reason to be scared anymore because he is behind bars for a very long time. However, they will probably have their past lives picked through with a fine tooth-comb by Philpotts lawyers looking for the slightest indiscretion. He has nothing to lose by denying the allegation which means they will be forced to PUBLICLY relive every minute detail about the allegation. And when I say 'minute detail' I mean 'minute detail'!

The defendants lawyer will be out to trip them up in any way they can, no matter how small the detail, and will constantly refer back to this in order to sow seeds of doubt in a jury's mind. Its why a lot of assaults either do not get reported or are retracted before they reach court.

Now considering those points, and bear in mind these women will have already been questioned thoroughly by the police, do you think you would be able to go through that ordeal again in public?

Tbh conny... I don't know what I would do in their shoes but again I would want justice. I know his lawyers are paid to represent him but the women are the victims but then to get grilled after you have been attacked and trying to blame you must be horrible... I am a great believer in Karma so it will catch up with him one day

God help philpott when he comes out and i'd imagine he'll fear for his life when he does, no one liked him before and i doubt he's made anyone change their minds about him.

I remember doing a job for him 15 years ago and he was a **** then, everyone in Derby has heard of him and i guarantee no one likes him apart from his cronies. The house where he lived and the tragedy happened is only about 3 streets away from me although its about 3 miles

Same her B&L. Justice in its natural form will catch up with him one day. And I doubt if his cronies will really want anything to do with him after what he has done.

Lay off Philpott. Just like the McCanns - he's innocent until proven guilty.
