My radiator isn't working and after reading the forums here, I thought it was a small pin on the TRV that was causing issues. But after checking the pin, it was clear that it was working fine but the head itself was causing issues. The black spring in the head that moves as the TRV head is rotated has gone unstuck and is not moving. Is there a way to fix that?

Sounds like it's broke.
Send another picture of the head from the side (right way up) so we can help you identify the brand.

Oh, and the "pin" that you need to check is the one sticking out the top of the valve body, not the bottom of the valve head...

You need a trv head , quite a common problem on the myson contract trvs

Thank you all for confirming that it is broke. The brand is myson. Will buy the new one

You could confirm the head is at fault by swapping with a head from another of your rads.

Can you somehow fix it if that black pin in the image is always right at the top and doesn't move when the head knob is rotated.
