When Einar Á. Sæmundsen, director of Þingvellir National Park, came to work last week, he was startled to see the signs of an attempted burglary, Morgunblaðið reports. Upon closer examination, the case appeared most peculiar.

In other Icelandic news, temperatures are reaching record-breaking highs.

"Very warm weather is forecast in East Iceland today and tomorrow, mbl.is reports. In the town Egilsstaðir, the temperature could reach up to 26°C (79°F), according to the Icelandic Met Office."
