Oh dear, now Scotland is told it wont get automatic EU membership, and that Spain will veto any attempts for it to get it. Scotland wont make it economically out of the UK let alone the EU. Personally from a UK financial point I sincerely hope they do opt out of the UK. Goodbye and good riddence.

Is that from a financial point of view or just a dislike of the country ?

Purely financial. I like the country and most of its inhabitants.

Suggest you do a bit of research then
Why do you think westminister doesnt want to let it go.

It's financially neutral at current, we get the oil money, we then send it back up to them, I don't know why anyone bothers to debate this.

The issue is that Scotlands oil will run out, but the Barnett formula won't.

Why do you think west-minister doesn't want to let it go.

Because they are conservatives (and by that I mean conservative in nature, not the political party).

The real issue is how the North Sea is divided. Much of the new oil is in English territorial water but of course Scotland disputes the boundary.

I cant see Scotland surviving on their own.

People mention the oil situation, it wont be there for ever, and prices fluctuate.

Scotland on average put less into the treasury than they take out, then add ontop of that the massive debt that Westminister will HAVE to share with them. They will have to take some of the UK's debt to Holyrood!

Scots receive on average £1000 more on each person through the government than English.

They might do ok short term, but they will eventually coming running back for handouts.
