Should there be a general election when Starmer gets booted?

You are nearly as bad as Boris Johnson.
His motto was, "When in trouble, start speaking in Greek or Latin," most people won't know the difference but they will still think , what a clever bloke.
It’s easy enough to google.

I wouldn’t mind if he was the Pm instead of Keir; you’ve got me wrong.

But he’s just a posh version of Tommy Robinson. He’s never going to get voted in. We are going to end up with tories again, and again.
I don’t think so.

People want Labour out more than Tories in. That can’t happen with a Tory vote given the current polls.

People can’t and won’t seriously vote for Nigel, he’s a snake oil salesman and I don’t think even he believes the **** he speaks.

Better than Keir, definitely.

I’m in the middle. But middle of nowhere at the minute

It is looking likely that within the next week Starmer will be booted out of office, in which case this isnt what we voted in. Starmer was elected and his policies/ mandate which have turned out to be farsicle to say the least. If Raynor takes over or Miliband surely that means we have not voted for either of these. It would mean that as per usual what we voted for we didn't get.
Was there a GE every time the Tories changed their grundies, I mean leader?

Yes of course. I remember you calling for the same when May became PM.
And didn't you say the same when Boris rose to be King of the world, and when truss inherited the title, and Sunak.

I remember you arguing vehemently for General Elections during those troubled times. :D

Its been a farce from day 1, scandal after scandal, its like a soap opera.
Another labour leader after only 18months is just ridiculous.
As ridiculous as Liz Trusses' 50 days?

Did I miss something? Have I been in a time warp, or has Highway Man lost the last 6 years somewhere?

Let's do the timewarp again.

He’s hanging on and fighting because the alternative for the country is far worse. He’ll either call a GE if he does badly in May or gather 80 MPs to back him in a leadership battle.
He doesn't need to do either regardless of the May local elections.

There's a barrister on YouTube who reckons that Starmer won't be able to burn the house down and call an election if that would serve as a threat to make the plebs do as they're told. He reckons that if there's another MP supported by the house then his request would be ignored.

I don't know - I listen to him as he's a barrister, but he is very anti-labour and I'm sure opinions differ among barristers...

Starmer, or anyone else, would need the support of Parliament for an early GE.
Starmer can assume he has the support of his party until such times as anyone challenges his leadership. A challenger would need the support of about 81 MPs, and 5% of the grassroots of the party, or some strong support from TUs'

Or he might decide to stand down in the interest of the country and/or party.

But as it stands, all he has to do is to weather the storm.
