Sorry, but this is important.

I haven't read all the other waffle in this thread but here's my take...

Male
Female
A very tiny minority who are genuinely physically somewhere between

Don't tell that to Pete01's children - he'll punch you.

However, there are a much bigger number who are absolutely Male or Female in every way but like dressing up, attention, or have issues. They can do whatever they like in the privacy of their own homes but shouldn't expect everyone else to play along with their games.
  • You are not going to be able to ridicule transgender people out of existence.
  • You are not going to be able to denigrate them out of existence.
  • You are not going to be able to legislate them out of existence.
  • You are not going to be able to ignore them out of existence.
  • You are not going to be able to deny them out of existence.
  • You are not going to be able to oppress them out of existence.

Dont be ridiculous, if my child happened to be in that small minority I'd/we would deal with it as it happens.

I'm not being ridiculous. You really did say that anybody who told your child that there was anything other than male or female would get a smack in the chops.

You seem obsessed about what I am and what I do.

I'll tell you what I'm not and what I don't do.

Unlike some I'm not selfish.

Unlike some I don't view social issues only through the prism of what is my own direct self-interest.
I ask as you seem to lean towards those ways...

But what ivor said wasn't aiming it at any child it was just saying a small minority are somewhere in between

I ask as you seem to lean towards those ways...

All you've done there is to show that you cannot comprehend the idea of anybody viewing social issues in any way except through the prism of what is in their own direct self-interest.

This is what makes me say that
No sensible parent wants a total stranger to tell their kids its ok to think there is more than two sexes and it is ok to dress up in a dress and access women only facilities even if you are a man in a dress. Its ridiculous and wrong , children are innocent and should be left that way, they dont need their impressionable minds intoxicating with this sort of nonsense.

Exactly

Yes.

A fact which you said would get anybody who told it to your child a smack in the chops.

OMG, you dont half twist things....you know I meant I wouldnt want my child to be told they can change sex if they wanted to, I said if they feel that way then we'd deal with it....

and to add, they wouldnt even have had those thoughts unless some crank had put it there.

Pete01 did not say "a total stranger", he said "anyone".

and it is ok to dress up in a dress and access women only facilities even if you are a man in a dress.

And that has no causal relationship to the fact that sex isn't binary, except in the frothing imaginations of transphobes.

Anything else we shouldn't tell them about?

Imagine a teacher reading a story to a class and it talks about a "mummy and a daddy".

What should the teacher do if a child says he has two mummies and no daddy?
