Spell it out...

Its mostly attitude, education and intelligence. They spend so much of their time dealing with scumbags, that they assume everyone is dodgy. They also don't have much legal knowledge - its all dumbed down in to guidelines and procedures.

That's twice you've said it now. Are you stuck for words?
Am I supposed to be insulted?

What are the police trying to get me to vote for?

Not the Police. The more fine grained information they have on you the more they can predict and then change your behaviour. Now this is not the realm of fantasy -its happening right now.

Would you let someone film inside your home just to check you are not committing a crime? Your privacy is a right and is one of the foundations of a democracy.

Minority report. Download Alexa data and arrest you for conspiracy. If 95% of Police are capable of policing with intelligence and common sense, that still leaves over 6,000 who need a bit of "help" and can't be trusted with heavy powers.

Not according to what is considered "not likely to be reasonable" - buying paint to redo kitchen while on lockdown when also buying that which is "likely to be reasonable".

That is down to the crown prosecution service not the police and in some cases entirely the opposite of what the gov wants and what has been left doing business - providing they meet distancing rules. Many outlets of various types can't so need to shift to mail order if they can. The "paint etc" trade are offering everything via the web.

So if Tesco's are selling paint etc that people can buy while walking around buying other things they shouldn't. There priority is to provide food. ;) Like lots of their food any paint is likely to be rubbish anyway.

Eventually, yes, but that doesn't stop plod telling you what you can't buy.

Irrelevant when arguing with plod.

Exactly the point. Who says so when DIY stores are allowed to be open?

No, it isn't.

Like lots of their food any paint is likely to be rubbish anyway.
I disagree about their food. Are you thinking of Asda?

Not according to some (still) ill-informed coppers...and that is my point.

Old news, and no longer the case.

Further guidance was issued to amoeba-brained Plod a week or more ago ; "if the shop sells it, it can be bought", iirc.

The gov providing they apply social isolation

We shop in several places and from experience Tesco is not one of them but has been in the past - has been sums them up. ;) Each to their own though.

Regular shops. Lidl for certain things about once a month. Also get dog food on the same run - Lidl in Redditch. Local CoOp at times, local shops. Sainsbury has figured recently at times but my wife likes to go out and have a shop. Same with Marks and Sparks food but shopping for other things and passing one. Lidl as some things are cheaper, some aren't and they have a variety of things in from time to time. Also a local farm shop at times. Then there is what was Heron food around the corner. They were bought up some months ago. That one is cheap. Some odd brands of all sorts now and again so try them. They do amazing frozen ducks. :( My wife wont eat duck though as they are so cute or would have one more often. My son and I eat one between us.

I don't rate Asda's own brand stuff at all which puts me off the place. CoOp unfortunately doesn't do so much of that as they did. We have a card so get dividend - something they don't push any more. Most of the Lidl stuff is own brand as well. Some of it is very good.

We like variety so shopping is mixed.
