Spell it out...

I went to aldi for supplies today. Beans, milk, potatoes, veg.
A bloke was loading up on AstroTurf.

Tried Aldi a couple of times. Germans say meat doesn't have added water as Germans wont buy it. I found it rather similar to others. Not lidl meat or dearer slices but they are going more British.

We have a green grocer shop but frontage always wide open and one at a time. Butchers next door, one at a time. Son risks bread and milk in Spa or another shop depending on customer level. Fat lot of good it would do us if he caught it. My wife found some one delivering veg so a load came - too much I suspect. She unlike my mother did doesn't plan a weekly shop she just buys so need loads of storage in the kitchen. That has been handy - lots of soup and stuff in cans more for lunch. Meat for that from the butchers. She will run out of flour for cakes so looking around for that.

DIY - I click collected what I need.

As it's going to go on for some time just ordered another freezer. Ours is packed way too much but a poor mix of what we really need so will be used for bread and meat. ;) I have a feeling I might arrange to fill it. No complaints about my wife as there is no saying what we get for diner but it's seldom designed to get rid of what we have unless it's now short dated. ;) It usually means she needs something she doesn't have.

Being 71 isn't much fun at the moment. It was great fun.

I too have a large kitchen, plus a pantry, with masses of storage, both always kept well stocked for years. I keep a running list, as I spot any shortages and SWMBO has now got into the same habit. Plenty of shops plus Lidl, Tesco and Home Bargains just a walk away, so she (much younger than me) does the shopping on foot. I take her every so often in the car, for a big shop and ring round to see if anyone else needs anything whilst I am there with my big car boot. A WhatsApp group has been set up for the street, so I also collect bits for them too. I'm at slight risk and have been self isolating since the start of this on the 23rd, apart from driving SWMBO for these big shopping trips. Fortunately I have a massive garden, garage and a couple of workshops to play in - I think I would go mad if I were restricted to a flat or house with no outdoors.

We do the bulk of our food shopping in Lidl, but we only buy those items which we find better /tastier from Lidl. They don't do everything we might want, so we also go to Sainsburys, Coop and even Fultons (a very local chain) for dog food.

I used to drive 8 miles to get to Aldi, to get some of their lines we particularly liked, but since then our local Lidl was opened as the village has expanded.

I can forsee many more dumb plods trying it on with people in their gardens now the regulation has changed.
And just because new guidance has been issued to plod, it doesnt mean that they read it or will act on it.#
Heck some of them still abuse the parts of the terrorism act that were repealed many years ago.

BTW, when going whopping you do not need to carry a shopping bag (one of the tests they may apply to see if your actually doing that) and on your return trip with your paint and brushes, you were simply unable to obtain the specific foodstuff you initially went for. ;)

Did you know that a fair few people are serving prison sentences for coughing and spitting at them sometime along with the words I'm giving you and your entire family covid.

I don't see the connection between your statement and the accompanying quote.

It provides a little more ACCURATE information. Just like the police the population contains a small percentage of idiots. Also some idiots that argue with them which always gets the same sort of response.
