Not defending him or anything, it just seems that the UK gave up on it's lockdown rules some weeks ago..

The UK is being its usual arrogant big-headed self thinking it is more important than anyone else.

Deciding that travel without returning quarantine is only allowed to places that have a better covid situation than the UK.
It should be the other way round but economics is taking over from safety.

Albeit that might be more important in the long run.

Flights are still operating between UK and Europe so not an issue. Travel insurance may be an issue due to the Foreign Office advice and he will still need to self quarantine himself.
There are probably many business people and ordinary members of the public using these flights daily, but because he is Boris' dad, its headline news.
