Thank you...

I think the best I've had in the UK have been South Indian (Kerela).
They have a different twist to the Bangladeshy restaurants.

At top curry VS a top Roast, I think a roast would still pip it.. Would prefer the curry on a Saturday night.

I'm not sure if there's any truth in it but I've found curries that are from Pakistani restaurants to be full of oil compared to Bangladeshi or Indian. Of course a lot of it is for the British palate and nothing like what you'd expect to get in said places. Proper Indian is more vegetable oriented.

They do cook with alot of oil in Bangladeshi and India...
It is to our pallet but can get great curries over there. By the sea is best. I never thought fish and curry went together. Never thought I'd enjoy do much...

Game Pie should be in the list.

Had succulent roast breast of guinea fowl, young brocoli and potato and leek hash on Friday.

Properly cooked fried eggs on ham with chips is high on my list of best meals.

EDIT STOP IT, making me feel very hungry.......

I'll get this one in early, before a certain forum member does.

There actually is a Humble Pie, a type of game pie.

But none of them are for me.. being a veggie and all. I like Sunday Roast, without the meat, but hardly a contender for my fav or most exciting dish! Do people still sit down to Sunday roast every week, like when I was a kid? I've no idea.

Hope your daughters enjoyed their first curry with you :)
No...judging by the sunday macky d drive thru que.

Sunday would not be a Sunday, without the Sunday roast. I worked on a contract in Italy for 12 months, I missed the Sunday roast and I missed the chips. Even when away in our tourer caravan, we manage a home cooked Sunday roast of some sort.

Indeed..Cannot ever remember sunday without a roast,,especially as a kid..now im veggie,,,do not miss it as much as i thought,,but do steer well clear of fast food

It might be a craving for carbohydrates.

I only remember we seemed to be served cold cauliflower rather a lot and steaks far too often. Pasta seemed never seemed to be served, except sometimes as a starter, or as lasagne. I mostly dined in the hotel restaurant for diner and in a Trattoria over the road from where I was working for lunch.
