Once again, on the BBC, that programme the other night with Sue Perkins in India. She started the programme by apologising to her Indian guide for what Britain had done to them in the past. she said she was really uncomfortably talking to him about it. The Indian guy said he didn't know what she was apologising for as the British had left them the buildings, the railway and tea. All of which they are still using.
I've spoken with many Indians, and they can't agree whether it was overall good or bad. BTW they don't call the Indian Mutiny by that name.
