Hi everyone,
This was surprising... I have removed a partition wall which was creating a small cubicle in my kitchen. Previous owners had a combi boiler and washing machine in it, but there was simply not enough space in it, so I decided to open it up fully to the rest of the kitchen.
This is 1960s bungalow, and to my surprise this wall wasn't made out of breeze blocks but typical red bricks. My sub floor is made out of concrete (I think) but I honestly do not know what am I am looking at now after removing this wall. It seems like there is a bit of wood, brick, concrete, asphalt and some other dpc layer.
How do I fill this "gap" and tile over it all?
I had somebody who is going to help and they said pva and tile adhesive will do the job. From what I tried to read, it would be better to go with some cement to fill, liquid dpc, sbr and then tiling over, taking few weeks now for all of it to dry properly. Is there a quick 5 day turnaround solution perhaps?
